His original intentions, after graduating from Simon Fraser University with his Bachelor of Arts degree, was to teach. The career change ultimately came following advice from his three older sisters.
“While I was at SFU, I was working as a part-time bank teller at Scotiabank,” says Badesha. “After graduating in 2010, I even considered law school, but in the end my sisters paved the way for me to choose banking.”
After working 12 years at Scotiabank as a financial advisor and mobile mortgage specialist, and another four years at Dominion Lending Centres, Badesha and partners founded Volterra Capital in December 2020. Today, the company employs more than 16 former bankers - all highly skilled and qualified brokers.
“We founded Volterra Capital with the idea that we could offer clients more financial choices and solutions that fit their unique situation,” says Badesha. “We want to change the way our clients look and think about mortgages.”
It doesn’t end with finding suitable mortgages for clients. Badesha and his team at Volterra also provide valuable advice throughout the homebuying journey. From explaining complicated jargon to providing insights into current market trends, they are there every step of the way.

Our expertise and guidance, combined with access to various lenders’ offerings, truly takes the stress out of what can be a sometimes complex process.

Helping people across BC.
While Badesha lives in the Fraser Valley and does service clients within this region, much of Volterra’s clients reside in the Interior.
“Most of our marketing is in Kamloops, Kelowna and Penticton, which is where we do a major portion of our business,” says Badesha. “What I love about these communities is how tight they are and how involved they are in servicing the youth and also growing and accepting new residents.”
Community focused.
A sports fan, Badesha began coaching children’s soccer while at university.
“I started coaching youth soccer when I was in my early twenties,” says Badesha. “Although I’m not coaching now, I sponsor several youth sports, including hockey and soccer, in a variety of ways.”
In his spare time, Badesha is an avid golfer, while he and his wife love discovering new restaurants and traveling to Palm Springs and other hot spots.
