“From an early age, coming from humble beginnings was a huge motivator for me to want to succeed in my chosen career,” says Lavoie, a married mother of two young children. “As far as becoming a mortgage broker, I sort of just fell into it.”
Right out of high school, Lavoie was offered a position as a mortgage broker’s assistant. Two years later, her boss saw her potential and encouraged her to attend UBC’s Sauder School of Business. By 20, Lavoie was a licensed mortgage broker.
“I realized I could make a difference in people’s lives and I really liked helping clients make sound financial decisions,” she says. “I strive to educate each one of my clients on the process of obtaining a mortgage for their home and empowering them through what can be the biggest purchase of their lives.”

Growing in her career.
Lavoie says having a mentor early on in her career was extremely beneficial. Not only was she lucky enough to have one mentor, she had several who she trusted and who dedicated time to show her the business.
“One of the best pieces of advice to me was this: ‘Every day, commit to doing one small thing towards reaching your greater goal. Some days will be harder than others, but never give up. Soon you will see the successes of many, consistent actions.’”
In early 2023, Lavoie branched out on her own, founding Lavoie Mortgage Group with three team members.
In her quest to further educate her clients, or for anyone who is interested in learning more about home ownership and mortgages, Lavoie posts regular blogs on her website, which are full of tips, advice and information.
Lavoie is a true powerhouse. Each year from 2018 to 2024, she has earned a coveted spot as Top Producing Broker DLC and Top Valley Financial Specialists. From 2017, she has been awarded Top 10% DLC (Dominion Lending Centre) Brokers Nationwide, up until 2021 where she was awarded top 2%. Her accolades have continued on right up until this year, when she proudly accepted her first lifetime hall of fame award with DLC, celebrating her experience in the industry and funding over 550 mortgages.
Growing in her career.
Although Lavoie lives in Maple Ridge, she is proud to serve clients in Langley. A perfect blend of country living and urban city living, with easy access to transportation, it's no surprise people are moving from across the province.
“Langley is known for its beautiful mountain views and friendly community feel, all the while being centrally located with every amenity you could think of,” says Lavoie. “In fact, Langley was voted one of BC’s strongest investment options by Western Investor Magazine.”
As hard as Lavoie works for her clients, she also prioritizes her family. Weekends, you can find her and her husband Matt taking their son to hockey practices or their daughter to gymnastics. As a family, they love traveling, being outdoors and enjoying BC's beautiful hikes.
