The infamous "Trump" sign was dismantled and taken down from the hotel's downtown Toronto location
Gone are the days of seeing a giant silver "Trump" emblazoned across the hotel and tower's downtown Toronto location.
Workers began removing the sign from the 65-storey building last Tuesday, as the tower is undergoing a major rebrand. The rebrand comes as a response to the tower's owner, JFC Capital, buying out management contracts from the Toronto branch of the Trump Organization.
While President Donald Trump never personally owned the hotel, the Trump Organization was operating it and licensed the hotel to his name. Canada's InnVest Hotel's LP has acquired the property and will be renaming it "The St. Regis Hotel." Until then, the tower will remain naked and nameless, much to the joy of many Toronto residents.
