Home owners in Metro Vancouver are getting a whole lotta help from renters. This week we ran a story about the huge number of secondary suites and rented out condos in our region. Makes tons of sense, especially in the most expensive real estate market in Canada. According to the article, at today's interest rates, $1,600 per month would cover the monthly mortgage costs on a $300,000 mortgage.
That got us looking at doing a reno to put in a rental suite... and we found some help on Twitter.
We also noticed a lot of neighbourhood-level democracy in action this week. And we found out why the arithmetic we managed to pick up in elementary school makes us Better People. So we'll start with that and then give you some numbers to ponder.
