We had really specific needs at a time when Cumberland had "low inventory". Catherine and Kathryn were incredibly patient and there main concern was finding a house that was the right house for us. As a person who gets overwhelmed by a lot of details, they made the process easy and seamless for me and my partner. They were meticulous in pointing out any immediate issues with properties we looked at, as well as pointing out any advantages of properties that we may not have noticed otherwise. They worked well with the other people on our "house getting team"---it can be a little weird in a small village where your housing situation is also mixed up with your social and work situations, but it was never awkward with this team behind us. As both buyers and sellers, my wife and I have had enough previous experience to be able to identify a real estate agent that knows what they are doing and how to do it - we were buying and Catherine Worthy wins the blue ribbon in spades for living and breathing her work. From the get go her listing emails indicated that she was a pro that meant business - the content contained prospects that matched our search criteria and price changes; often there were emails dedicated to pertinent market information. Once we decided to sell our mainland home we contacted Catherine who arranged for 3 or 4 viewings (a fair distance from her home base) that were arranged to suit our return ferry schedule. On several repeat trips to the island she was there waiting for us at the first viewing. As we got to know her it became apparent that Catherine had accurately assessed who we were, what we wanted, and the kind of properties we might resonate with … homes are different than houses. Any questions or concerns we had via phone or on site were fully explored/researched and comprehensively reported back to us in short order. She’s no slouch! Not once did Catherine impose an opinion - profession or personal - without it being asked for, and when we did ask, we always trusted that we could rely on her assessment. On the day we viewed the home we ended up purchasing, Catherine arrived early and met with the owner to walk the property line and glean any relevant information the selling agent may not have been able to provide. After we did the walk-through and were about to leave, the house asked us to have a second look - just the two of us. Catherine agreed to sit on the front porch and watch over Lucy-Loo, our dog, as we did another walk-through. When we came back out we thanked her for waiting and told her we felt this one was the one. She said, “Doesn’t surprise me … while you were gone I was visited by hummingbirds and butterflies while bunnies hopped on your lawn and deer grazed across the road … it felt like I was in a fairytale”. That kinda clinched it. Catherine and her team seamlessly guided us through the process of making the purchase including orchestrating the necessary inspections. At the time there were serious forest fires posing a potential threat to our immediate area and Catherine’s knowledge of the procedure for locking in insurance coverage made certain that our investment was adequately protected - without her expertise that may not have been the case. I cannot imagine anyone surpassing the experience we had with Catherine Worthy as our agent - her abilities, service and dedication are exemplary. It is a rare person who can maintain both cutting edge expertise while at the same time being adept at helping a beginner understand; Catherine is such a person. I did not have any clue how to proceed, but no question was too big or small that she wasn't able and enthusiastic to help me understand and overcome, and there were plenty if things I never would have thought to ask that she navigated with me.
