All of our house designs feature minimum nine-foot ceilings on the main floor and up to two stories in some rooms, depending on the chosen plan. For two-storey homes, the main stairway is stained oak treads with custom wrought-iron spindles and oak handrail. We go above the Ontario Building Code in many cases. For example, we go with a 10" width concrete foundation. We also supply 2 x 6 outer wall construction, with high-quality brick and stone. You'll find our architectural 3D roof tiles are superior to many homes built today, with a 25-year warranty and standard built-in fiberglass strip for high wind resistance. Our superior insulation packages ensure modest natural gas heating costs for these custom homes. | | Doors and Windows | Examples of our high-quality standard finishes are high-quality hardware such as Schlage and Weiser, large baseboard and casing around all doors and windows, and on some homes 8-foot doors. Our Low-E Energy Star windows and patio doors come with screens where applicable. | Painting | The painting aesthetic features semi-gloss white trim. The high-quality, off-white eggshell wall paint you'll find in our homes is complemented by decorative and durable "California" splatter ceiling finish, except in high moisture areas and closets. The laundry room, bathrooms, and kitchen are all done in a flat finish, depending on ceiling break. Our painters apply one coat of primer and two coats of paint. You have five colours from which to choose. We ask only one paint colour per floor. | Flooring | All of our custom homes feature quality flooring materials. | Our large reputable suppliers are able to offer multiple selections in their showrooms to aid you in your selection process. | Hardwood provided is durable, pre-finished, select hardwood or engineered wood flooring for up to 500 square feet in the dining room, family room, or great room. You will have multiple choices of plank width, 3-1/2" inches or more, as part of your standard samples from the flooring centre. | A generous allowance of tile is provided within our quality standards, and there is a large selection within our supplier showrooms. | For all rooms that are not hardwood or tile, a broad choice of carpet is available, a 50-ounce broadloom or equivalent-cost berber with quality underlay. | Exquisite Bathrooms and Kitchens In Every Home | Bretton Estates homes come with a gorgeous master bathroom, wood cabinets, and a full-size kitchen. The custom wood cabinetry (maple or oak panel doors with your choice of colour finish) and hardware is second-to-none, as are the crown moldings and light valances, which come standard with every home. You get to select the cabinetry, laminate countertops, and hardware options from the builder's kitchen centre.
