Shahlah Bakar is the best Real Estate specialist in Great Vancouver. We arrived in BC from abroad not long ago and knew nothing about real estate in BC, although we plan to buy our ideal first home as soon as possible. We were looking for a condo, having recently moved to Vancouver, BC. From our first meeting, Shahlah understood us perfectly and was realistic about the market and what we could call our new home. As first time homebuyers, we were pretty nervous and unsure about getting into the housing market but from the moment we met Shahlah we felt 100% in capable hands. Our first interaction, she came completely prepared and ready to answer every question, was very professional but also really personable as well! Not only was she really knowledgeable when it comes to real estate, but she will always give you her honest opinion as well. Shahlah has put up with so many questions from us, even questions that aren’t really part her job but she will always find an answer for you or can direct you to somebody who knows. She is filled with good recommendations on things such as moving companies, lawyers, etc. and has the best communication. Our home buying experience would definitely not be the same without Shahlah and we are so happy we got to work with her!

Noteworthy things that demonstrated her professionalism and experience: - She toured multiple condos with us, providing well-researched build/strata/community info that often times even the selling agent was not aware of. Coming from Calgary, we also had no means of transport so she personally drove us around. - Various realtors we reached out to early on in our search required us to sign a buyer agent contract for exclusivity. With Shahlah, she was very explicit that she did not believe in this because home buying should be in the best interest of the buyer. The reality was, after chatting with multiple realtors, it was clear that Shahlah did not require an exclusivity agreement because she blew the rest out of the water. - She patiently walked us through each clause of our contract, explaining each in layman's terms and ensuring we understood each before proceeding. - As we were in Calgary, she gave us a virtual tour of multiple properties we were not able to see in person, highlighting not just upgrades, but flaws of each condo to let us make an informed choice - The day we took possession, we arrived in Vancouver late in the evening. Shahlah arrived a half hour before we did and took the time to ensure our condo was in order greet us in person. And the list goes on. We're incredibly happy with our purchase and it couldn't have been done without Shahlah's knowledge & guidance. Hope to work with her again!
