As an agent with over 20 years of experience who has built a lasting reputation in the industry, Kevin Skipworth has become a cornerstone of Greater Vancouver’s real estate landscape. A well-respected, hard-working real estate agent, owner and managing broker, Kevin has worked with REW and improved our workflows and content offerings. His hard work and contributions have touched the lives of many agents, Homeseekers and community members alike throughout the years.

“I love market trends and looking at them,” he says. “And for me, when I approach real estate, it's all about looking at the numbers, trying to understand them, trying to see where the numbers take you.” Kevin’s mastery over numbers is apparent from the Greater Vancouver Market Insights Report he submits every month to REW. But beyond the numbers, Kevin also dedicates hard work and attention to detail to everything he does.

It’s also why his partnership with Cathie Cline has been so successful. “Cathie and I started working together way back in 2006, shortly after I'd been in the industry,” he says. “She is such a great ‘people person’ – a very hard worker like myself. I'm a numbers guy. I love the numbers side, the contract side. And so we kind of pitch-in in different ways, but we also are two sides of the equation that come together and help our clients in a great way.”

Since Kevin has seen many market cycles come and go throughout his years as a real estate agent, he has some advice for new agents. “Markets do have a flow, but I think the most important thing is to be connecting with your clients, to be making sure they understand what's going on, to help educate them where they're at and help them through making decisions that they need to make at that time,” he says. “Sometimes the information isn't the most fun to share, but it helps them in some cases make better transactions or helps them to move in the direction that they want to go.

Being selected as the Legend of Real Estate Award winner highlights Kevin’s success and impact. He says that, “winning the Legend of Real Estate Award is a very big honour. I have a lot of respect for REW as an organization and the people that work there. So to be chosen for something like this to me is extremely honourable, to have that kind of recognition.”

He goes on to say that it reinforces his commitment to hard work. “I feel like I have to do everything I can to uphold that recognition and continue to do everything I can to be part of this industry and improve it and foster it in any way,” he says.

Kevin is also thankful to his fellow agents at Dexter Realty, and credits them as being part of his success. “All of the agents that I've worked with, they've provided me with such great insight. They've been able to be there as part of the process and we have a great relationship,” he says. “So helping them is something that I very much enjoy – and of course I have a very understanding family that puts up with the work and sometimes taking calls or dealing with things at very odd times. Everybody is very understanding and that very much helps to do what I do.”
