Trinity Street, Hastings East
One of Vancouver’s most popular trick-or-treating streets, Trinity is the place to be for a spooky Halloween. Private residences between 2400 and 2900 Trinity Street are a hot spot for Halloweeners. Home owners in the area go all out with creepy decorations, and it’s reported that up to 800 trick-or-treaters visit the area on Halloween night.
Queen’s Park, New Westminster
The neighbourhood surrounding Queen’s Park in New Westminster is said to be the hottest Halloween destination in all of Metro Vancouver. According this interactive Trick-Or-Treat Map created by Census Mapper, there will be quite a few trick or treaters traipsing around just west of the park.
Main Street to Cambie Street, Vancouver East and West
Lots of areas of East Vancouver are great for trick-or-treating, but the blocks between Main and Cambie, straddling Vancouver's East-West divide just north of 33rd and Queen Elizabeth Park, are another hot Halloween 'hood. The above-mentioned interactive map reports that more than 50% of the households in the area have trick-or-treat-aged children, and those tree-lined streets make an ideal spot for kicking up the leaves in a great costume.
Yaletown, Downtown Vancouver
While some might not think of posh, urban Yaletown as a Halloween hot spot, it most certainly is. Kiddos have the chance to trick-or-treat at various businesses from Homer to Pacific Street and party at the Halloween Carnival at the Roundhouse Community Centre, all thanks to the Yaletown Business Improvement Association.
Kerrisdale, Vancouver West
Known for its beautiful, expansive homes, Halloween in Kerrisdale would be a treat for just about anyone. The large residential area between King Edward Avenue and 49th street is perfect for trick-or-treaters. Plus, if someone gives you an apple instead of candy, you can always feed it to one of the horses at the nearby Southlands equine neighbourhood.
