The truth is that real estate isn’t about property. It’s about people.
Jesse Dean Cook and his wife Amanda are living their best life in West Vancouver. Not only are the couple at the top of the real estate game in the wealthy Vancouver suburb, they’re also at the heart of a movement to revitalize the community.
We get to know West Vancouver’s real estate power couple in Season One of RealTours, as they guide Stephen Tadgh through the city’s exclusive neighbourhoods.
The road to real estate.
Jesse Dean Cook’s life looked very different before he got into real estate. He was working for a multi-billion dollar corporation, travelling tens of thousands of kilometres a year as part of his job. His wife, Amanda, is a singer and she was on the road a lot too.
When the couple decided it was time to settle down, a friend advised them to try real estate.
“He showed me West Vancouver and I fell in love with it,” remembers Jesse. “I made the jump in 2013 to moving my wife and I to Dundarave and kicked off our newfound career."
Amanda also embraced the shift in careers, taking on all the marketing and creative direction for the couple’s new real estate adventure. For the last decade, the pair have worked tirelessly to grow their business and the hard work has paid off. Their REW profile is filled with glowing reviews from countless clients who can’t say enough about their experience finding a new home.
“I had a two-year ripcord - if this didn't work out, I'd go back to corporate,” Jesse explains. “But I worked every single day, 100 hour weeks, and we're at a point now where the business is solid. I'm really excited to see what the next 10 years will bring."

For anyone who thinks there's a shortcut in this profession, I'm here to say that's simply not the case.
Building community in West Van.
Since moving to the North Shore, the Cooks have taken it upon themselves to help create an inclusive and exciting community. They even invested in a wonderful local Dundarave restaurant, Bar Olo, to help create the neighbourhood they want for their fellow residents.
"Dundarave is such an incredible community,” says Amanda. “We want there to be more young families living here. We want to bring that youthful energy, as well as honouring where the neighbourhood has come from. We lived here for many years and now have our office in the heart of Dundarave Village."
This connection to the community is what makes the pair so sought after by homeseekers interested in West Vancouver.
“I feel very strongly that you have to be a part of the community you're working in or else you're not being very authentic,” says Jesse. “How can I live in Coquitlam and tell people how great West Vancouver and the North Shore are if I don't actually live there?"
