Cambie is a Vancouver neighbourhood that has seen huge changes over the past decade. The 2009 opening of the SkyTrain’s Canada Line and the subsequent City Council approval to densify the area through the Cambie Corridor Plan have hand-in-hand worked to dramatically alter this West Side neighbourhood. Demarcated by Granville to the west, 16th Avenue to the north, Ontario to the east and 41st Avenue to the south, this large community encompasses Queen Elizabeth Park (Vancouver’s second-most-visited park), Nat Bailey Stadium and the beloved Park cinema.
Keeping in mind the West Side’s August benchmark detached house price of $3.6 million, we found houses in this area starting at a list price of $2.3 million and reaching beyond $5.68 million for a spectacular six-bedroom residence. While single-family homes dominate the Cambie market, we found a one-bedroom condo listed at $489,000 at the low end of the market and a new luxury three-bedroom condo on the market for $1.6 million. Townhomes ranged from under $1.2 million to just beneath $1.6 million, with both the highest- and lowest-priced townhouses being in the same just-built complex.
