Series of short videos coincide with November’s Financial Literacy Month to empower home buyers in their decision-making processes

To coincide with November’s Financial Literacy Month, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has collaborated with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada to develop a series of short videos to help home buyers.

The CREA says, “Buying a home is among the biggest financial commitments most Canadians will make in their lives. The home buying process is often complex and confusing.”

The videos will define key terms and concepts that home buyers will come across in the process, such as such as mortgage amortization periods and prepayment penalties.

“I’m proud that we’re helping consumers become more knowledgeable by providing videos that explain key terms and concepts,” said Beth Crosbie, CREA president. “These are skills they’ll need to make an informed, responsible decision about homeownership.”

New videos will be released every Tuesday and Thursday throughout November on CREA’s YouTube Channel. The first video was posted on November 4.
