Carolyn Pogue took naturally to real estate as she genuinely loves a challenge and thrives on working with people. Helping clients reach their real estate goals is a top priority for Carolyn. At the start of her career, Carolyn succeeded in many different industries, including several high-profile corporate companies in the professional sports world, luxury skincare brands, print media and more. At the end of the day, though, she was interested in working with people, and selling real estate. And she’s seen her fair share, previously living in several areas, including Toronto, Philadelphia and Edmonton.
“I’ve always been interested in exploring various neighbourhoods and unique architecture. That’s just always been an interest to me, and seeing the different styles of homes” she says. She also enjoys home décor trends and gaining an insider’s perspective on various areas’ housing trends and styles.
Carolyn has years of on-the-ground experience in Port Moody.
Carolyn aims to bring her excitement and expertise to each home seeker, too. “Everybody has their own personal investment goals and house goals. I think being able to work with people and see that through is very exciting and rewarding,” says Carolyn.
Running their real estate team, Pogue Real Estate Group, with her husband Brian, who is a Chartered Professional Accountant and licensed Realtor, Carolyn knows how to handle both the emotional journey of home buying and selling, along with the numbers and stats required to deeply understand the market in Port Moody and around Greater Vancouver. As she explains, “that's how we build our trust with our clients. We're constantly communicating with them, answering their questions promptly and keeping their best interest always top of mind.”

How would you describe Port Moody to a potential buyer?
Port Moody is a charming city with the perfect balance of nature and city life. There are several parks and green spaces, incredible local shops and restaurants (that help keep that small-town feel), yet you’re only a 45 minute SkyTrain ride into Downtown Vancouver. Port Moody truly is the best of all worlds!
What is your overall impression or opinion of the market in Port Moody?
Port Moody is always going to be desirable for buyers as it appeals to so many different types of buyers – young professionals (because of the transit options, local cafes and breweries), young families (tons of recreation options, great schools and amenities for kids) and retirees (smaller city with lots of walking paths and nature). Out of the three cities that make up the Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam), Port Moody holds the highest price point on average because it is such a desirable place to call home for so many. The other reason the market is always strong in Port Moody is because it has all types of housing options, from low-rise condos, high-rise towers, townhomes, single-family homes, homes with acreage (in Anmore) and waterfront properties (in Belcarra).
How has the property market in Port Moody changed over recent years?
There are more condo options now for buyers, with more towers, low-rise condos and townhomes being built in Port Moody. There are also several more new single-family homes going in, which gives buyers more options as well. The SkyTrain has changed the market in Port Moody, bringing several more buyers from Vancouver and the North Shore to Port Moody, as their commute has become much easier with additional transit options.
