Rowley in King Edward Park

The Rowley, our first Ocheller Signature Series design, is a two unit semi-detached project in the walkable community of King Edward Park. It has been designed for the modern Canadian urbanist who longs to love where they live. Inspired by the iconic grain elevator structures dotted along the prairie sky over these last 100 years, its design is elegant, timeless and sophisticated. It is perfect for any homeowner who wants to be rooted in the history of the prairies while forging a new path in Canadian housing. Each unit encompasses 1632 sqft of living space with an open concept on the main level, and 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths on the upper second level. The basement is ready for further expansion as either additional living space for the home above, or as a secondary suite for additional income or intergenerational living. Like every Ocheller home, it is made with strength and resiliency in mind that come standard with every build. Rowley, Alberta is located north of Red Deer River Valley, near Drumheller. It dates back to the early 1910s, when the railway came through. This Canadian Northern line was actually built under the charter of the Alberta Midland Railway, travelling south from Vegreville Alberta, through Rowley, and then to Drumheller. Along the way, the line passed through numerous small towns, most of which were populated as the railway progressed. Its iconic twin elevators built in 1917 and 1940 for the United Grain Growers Ltd and Alberta Pool Elevators Ltd have stood side by side for generations on the Alberta prairie. While Rowley is now considered a ghost town with a population of 8, it is a prairie gem with a history of entrepreneurship and commerce, a backdrop for iconic movie productions, and worth the trek to explore on a warm summer day.
