We were first time homebuyers looking for our first apartment after we recently got married. I have known Phil since 2019. He helped me purchase my first home when I was moving back to Canada and it was by luck that I had reached out online for a realtor and was matched with Phil. Now for a bit more detail… As first time home buyers, we wanted to work with a realtor that could help us maximize our money and find a good home that met our criteria. During our first call with Phil, he shared his passion for getting first time buyers into good homes, and we can’t emphasize enough how true that ended up being. Phil’s services left us feeling so valued, at ease, and ultimately very taken care of. Over the two months we spent searching for a home, Phil joined us on dozens of open houses. He helped us arrange short notice and private viewings, often at weird times of the day. He answered all our questions (even the silly ones) and helped us navigate the complexities of buying a home. There were a few homes that we got very excited about, and Phil could have hyped us up, pushed through the sale, and made his commission. But he didn’t. Instead, he helped us understand the potentially problematic aspects of those homes that we weren’t aware of. He helped us picture what owning those homes would really likely be, and ultimately helped us dodge some bullets. He encouraged us to stay patient, and stick to our requirements. Phil is very transparent about the home buying process. He helped us understand the motivations of everyone involved, and helped us navigate many challenges like offer negotiations, the steps that follow putting forth an offer, and the additional steps that come when (fingers crossed) your offer is accepted. We look forward to living in our new space for years to come, but when ready, we can’t wait to work with Phil again.
