He was meticulous in his scrutiny of properties, highlighting the pros and cons of every place, based on what we were looking for. Very satisfying experience working with Paul. He was a very straight shooter with us, and gave honest opinions on what we were getting into, especially as we were purchasing during a crazy market. We ended up very satisfied with our purchase, as we keyed in on location and property size. Paul let us know very clearly that he thought we were getting ourselves into a bit of a project. How right he was… His logo is very well suited, as he is definitely a bulldog. He want to bat for us in his communications with the sellers agent, and managed to keep us out of a multiple bid offer, which seemed like an all too common situation at the time. He insisted on a traditional transaction, with typical subjects to inspection, financing etc. Paul recommended an excellent inspector, Tom Munroe, who was very thorough. Paul used this report as ammunition to get us a reasonable price adjustment. Paul’s attention to details following up the transaction, were also very thorough, as he provided all necessary nformation and sources for follow up steps. Most importantly, Paul adjusted well to our personalities, as these decisions are large, expensive, and very significant to our long term futures and goals. This plays out differently for everyone, so really do let him know where you are coming from from your initial interaction. There is not much I would change, if anything, about our interactions. There are just so many wonderful things to say about Paul that it has taken me awhile to write this review! My husband and I had decided that it was time to search for a New Home. This was met with trepidation and reflective unhappiness. Our last realtor (and my Sister’s), ALSO of Oakwyn Realty, left us angry, sad, shocked, irritated etc. We did not want to deal with Oakwyn ever again. We asked our friends for a referral and instantly knew that when we heard about Paul he sounded perfect. BUT! He is with Oakwyn Realty… After our first conversation with him, we knew, without a doubt, HE IS OUR REALTOR! My husband is the logistics guy - I on the other hand rely mostly on my intuition and the energies I feel. Of course, I listen to logic and efficiency, but I am also very concerned about the nuances of any situation or decision and the sense of the journey to get there. And, so, this is the theme of my review :) Paul is energetic, highly personable, perceptive and is always willing to help - whether it is us, the other realtor, or to give referrals (mortgage brokers, lawyers, etc). Paul had a great sense of who we were and what we were looking towards within our first phone call. His awareness is impeccable - he was able to answer many of my questions without even asking, or with little explanation. Paul led us around showings and photos and helped us get beyond the initial shock or beauty of a place, but to dig deeper into how the place had been lived or taken care of. Either by previous tenants/owners or by strata and management. Paul would take time with us outside the buildings after each showing and we would talk about the area - from what is around, how to best approach the building when driving home and future plans for the area. Paul even helped other realtors know where the parking/garbage/bike storage etc of THEIR showings were! Because Paul is relatable, having numerous properties in various areas of Vancouver and It’s surroundings, his advice was always met with trust. Paul renovates his properties and he finds homes which are conducive to the life of his family. Because of this and because of his experience in Real Estate and LIFE! We found our new home within a MONTH! Also, as essential as his experience was in the process to find our new home, it was his AFTER CARE that also blew me away! Starting with very thoughtful Possession Day presents (yummmmm!!). He has kept a line of communication open if we ever have any further questions and has followed up with my husband. Even if you’re not as aware of the nuances or intangibles in finding your new home that can lead to an all around ’ right’ decision, Paul will advise and share this with you automatically. Because of this, I believe you will make a more thoughtfully informed decision than you ever would have or may even know!

My family had worked with another Oakwyn team on three deals (2 purchases and 1 sale) which were unfortunately poorly handled. For context it was one of those top 5% teams that boast how great they are but treat you like a number. So when Paul “from Oakwyn” was recommend (highly) to us we were apprehensive. But Paul has a different philosophy, he focussed on a small number of clients and treats you with his time, attention, knowledge, and due diligence. Right from our first interview Paul understood that we needed an advisor that was not just going to find us a house but further develop our property investing skill set. Working with him was breeze: always available on the phone, prompted in his email responses, never under delivered on his promised, and often surprised us. He help us build an investment team that we will use for future deals (mortgage broker, lawyer, property manager, inspector, cleaner, etc). It was easy to see that we were working with a true industry professional who didn’t come in with an ego, was kind to everyone we met, honest in our conversations, and kept us calm during stressful situations. There is much more praise I can bestow but I will wrap this up by saying that I don’t consider Paul a realtor bc that word has been tainted by the low quality/over priced “professionals” in the industry. Paul is a modern Real Estate Partner who will be an integral part of your investment career.

Paul helped my husband and me purchase a home with great success! Paul went above and beyond to assist me while purchasing a condo in Vancouver. I was an out of town buyer and he made the process so easy!
