We have recently used services of a real estate agent, Scott Johnston, in the process of sale of our townhouse and purchase of a new house. Our family highly recommends Scott as a realtor. Starting from the very first contact with Scott when we shared our intention to sell the townhouse, we realized that we were dealing with a professional who knows the "ins and outs" of the industry and who would ensure to use his expertise to our benefit as his clients. Scott instantly made himself available. He arranged a meeting with us, during which we discussed our goals (Scott noted exactly what kind of property we were looking for) and he explained us all the steps of selling a townhouse we owned. Scott shared the tips on how to maximize our chances of the quick sale when it came to the preparation of the house for sale and upcoming showings. But it was when Scott prepared marketing material for the sale of our townhouse when we realized the value of his services! Scott has an amazing marketing team (photographer, videographer and printing services) that did a fantastic job on ensuring that our house was presented in the best state possible to prospective buyers. The photographer took professional photos of our property, while the videographer took a video. The video was really helpful in giving an idea of what our house looked insider and this way minimizing the number of showings. In addition, Scott arranged for brochures to be printed with a description of our property and containing professional photos. But we ended up not using those because our house was sold just after a couple of days after it was posted online and after the first showing! Scott also guided us during the negotiations with the buyers and thanks' to him, we got the best offer for our property (in fact, the sale of our townhouse was the highest sale of the year in the area). I have to mention that we were not easy clients to deal with. When we were looking for a new house, Scott was very helpful in finding properties that we might like and showing them to us while accommodating OUR schedules (we both work full-time, so, sometimes Scott had to arrange showings late in the evenings or during the weekends and he was always accessible and understanding). As a realtor, Scott would go above and beyond in making sure that a sale of your old house and a purchase of the new one goes as smooth as possible with the least amount of efforts and stress on part of his clients. If you have never sold a real estate property before, you may not understand the value of services provided by a real estate professional. You may be tempted to sell your house yourself to save on the commission fees. However, you may not have the required knowledge and skills to make sure that you find the right buyers in the shortest time period (to make sure that you don't have to go through the "painful" process of multiple showings) and that you know how the negotiations usually work. We cannot thank Scott enough for assisting us with the process and making our dream of purchasing a house happen!
