Since being put on skis at the age of 2, my love for the outdoors has grown immensely. I occupy my time in the spring, summer, and fall with Mountain biking and spend my winters on the hill skiing. I love that the Okanagan provides me the opportunity to explore the mountains and enjoy the outdoors year round. Living an active lifestyle and spending so much time in the outdoors I developed a love for action photography, which led me to pursue a career as a Photographer for a number of years before dialing it back to enjoy as a life-long hobby.

Having 10 + years experience in the customer service industry, mainly working in the bicycle and ski industry, was invaluable in teaching me how to understand people’s needs by asking the right questions and knowing how to use the information given to find the products that suit them best.

Working in real estate has allowed me to direct all of the skills and knowledge acquired during my time in the service industry to help people find their new home in the Okanagan Valley. I get immense joy out of helping my clients move closer to their goals, no matter how big or small!

Our family has an extensive real estate backround, with our father Peter Kirk having 25+ years in the industry and recently retiring from the sales position and moving to the Owner/Managing broker position here at RE/MAX Kelowna. My brother Steve who I have partnered up with has 10+ years in the business, as well as our middle brother Kevin who is working on the Property Management side with RE/MAX Management Solutions taking care of the Rental side of the industry.

All in all, the Kirk family can help you out no matter what your needs. I can’t begin to say how excited I am to be part of what has become a great family business providing people with the great service they deserve.

I’ve been in Real Estate since June of 2008. Starting my Real Estate career at the beginning of the economic downturn was a challenging endeavor but one that allowed me to find the strength and knowledge to move forward when many were calling it quits. I’m still here and having fun! The first 7 years of my Real Estate career were a partnership with my father, Peter Kirk, who is now Managing Broker of our office and one of the busiest RE/MAX offices in Western Canada. The knowledge I gained through mentorship, experience and our daily working relationship helped strengthen my already strong work ethic.

Prior to my Real Estate career I spent 10 years in the customer service industry as manager of one of the busiest grocery stores in the Marketplace IGA chain. My dedication, drive, enthusiasm and work ethic gave me opportunities to leap ahead in a competitive internal industry. Hired as a clerk who bags groceries, I quickly rose to management within 4 years. My goal was to learn every day and always do something more than expected.From time management to people management to creative problem solving, I learned a lot and continue to carry those lessons in my day to day life and work life.

My business continues to grow and be successful because of the relationships I’ve built. I pride myself on hard work, honesty, integrity and the desire to work hard for my clients. If I can help you the way I’ve helped others, I will sleep well at night. This is what I do! This is what I enjoy!

We've used Steve Kirk to buy our very first home ten years ago, and we've just used him again to buy our next property. I would recommend Steve's services without hesitation. Steve was totally up front with us about the somewhat unsavoury history of the neighbourhood of the property we were looking at. He had great suggestions for alternate properties that would have been a more stable investment but with less long term upside. When we decided to put in an offer on the property he made sure that all the paperwork was in order and that all the correct information was available from the sellers and written in for our benefit. Steve made several visits to the property during subject removal when a storm blew down a number of trees on the property and threatened the deal, and ultimately had to write a number of addendums to keep the deal alive. He was extremely organised and highly responsive during the entire process and we wouldn't hesitate to use his services again!

Earlier this year, my wife and I made the decision to purchase a property in the Kelowna area to be closer to one of our children for part of the year. This decision is how we came to know her acquaintance, realtor Mike Kirk. As we are Ontario residents, our first communications with Mike involved numerous emails and telephone calls in October. Through these initial communications we decided to narrow our search for a suitable property to Big White Ski Resort. We learned a number of things about Mike, that gave us lots of confidence moving forward. Mike told us he grew up in Kelowna, and he was familiar with Big White. He was up front from the very start, admitting he was new to the real estate business, although his family have been Kelowna realtors for many years. That's an honest person. My response to that comment was, "You have to sell a first house before, you sell a second, and you have to sell a second before you can sell a thousandth". This gave us no cause for concern. We learned he has a great family team he could call upon when seeking answers to our many questions. He set us up with a real estate program online where we could view and comment on potential properties prior to our planned trip to Kelowna. We found this useful, and I'm certain this assisted Mike to plan our viewing trip as we narrowed down our choices. We flew to Kelowna for a long weekend in mid November. Mike had arranged approximately 10 properties to view at Big White. We found him to be punctual, and very well organized, providing us with material on each property including the specifics including taxes, strata fees and the like. As an added bonus, Mike was able to provide us with much local knowledge of Big White. Once we identified the property we wished to pursue, Mike prepared the offer quickly, providing us with some conditional subjects to add to the offer to purchase that we had not considered. We returned to Ontario, and over the course of a few days we had an accepted conditional offer. The following couple of weeks were rather busy. Mike assisted us greatly, going so far as to accompany our home inspector as the building was assessed. He worked what seemed long hours to obtain documentation we required to fulfill certain subjects in the contract. He worked with our selected lawyer, making the purchase process for us rather simple actually. In fact our lawyer stated Mike went well beyond what he (the lawyer) would expect any realtor to do to acquire the necessary information in order to complete the purchase. We found the communication he provided to us throughout the entire purchase was beyond anything we would ever have expected. He is professional, courteous, and sincere. Mike displayed confidence every step of the way. He seemed to know when it was appropriate to seek advice from his colleagues. In fact, we could not think of any criticism of Mike throughout the entire process. With the help of Mike we completed the purchase in November 2017.
