Thinking back on 2018 comes with a feeling of appreciation and gratitude, in a professional sense our team enjoyed helping 77 families, friends and long term clients make a move. We also saw a transition in the market place of a sellers’ market to a more balanced state giving some buyers a better opportunity to purchase the home of their choice.

On a personal level, Scott’s family also met their 2nd girl, Brynn born in February,2018, their oldest daughter Briar is also enjoying her time at Montessori a couple days a week. A balanced work family schedule as a realtor can sometimes be a challenge, although Scott has the support of Jaime who enjoys every minute of being a mom. The family did a bit of travelling this summer with road-trips in their motorhome to both Yosemite National park and the Grand Canyon (with many stops at playgrounds on the way).

In October Scott had another opportunity to travel to Europe with a group of RE/MAX realtors from Western Canada. An annual event with a group of likeminded Realtors/Hockey players where they played in Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. It may sound odd to some, but these peers continue to be great friends who Scott can call whenever he needs great business advice.

Scott also was presented a plaque from REMAX of Nanaimo, celebrating this big milestone of working with RE/MAX of Nanaimo for 15 years! He also received The Lifetime Achievement Award from RE/MAX.

I will be completely honest, in the past I have felt that realtor fees were obscenely expensive and the services provided did not justify such fees. That changed this year when I sold my home with Scott and his team. 1. The listing quality was incredible. I’ve viewed properties for sale across the country and I would say that the quality of the description, photos, video, and virtual tour were higher than or comparable to anything else in the country (not just Nanaimo). 2. Ex...perience - I sold my home at the beginning of February. Like most of this year, inventory was very low and there were many buyers. I had a full priced offer before the house even hit the market. Scott’s experience helped me consider the offer, but also be patient to list on the market, hold viewings, and set a time when I would review multiple offers and that is exactly what happened. 3. Professionalism - Scott took the time to go through each offer with me. Explaining the pros and cons of any conditions. He also gave me the room to make my own decision. After my initial purchase agreement was signed, one of the offers that I had not accepted was offered as a backup offer. This was not something I had heard of before. Scott again explained all of the necessary details and helped me come to a clear decision. Even though the market was crazy leading to lots of excitement and a little anxiety, Scott continued to maintain a high level of professionalism. 4. Care - the days between an excepted offer and conditions being removed can be the most nerve-wrecking. Waiting patiently is not my strong suit. None the less, Scott was there with a reassuring “this is the normal process” anytime I reached out. If I was to do it all over again, I would definitely pick Scott and his team. I am confident that the sale would not have been so successful without him.
