As the saying goes, "if you can’t beat them, join them." It’s a philosophy that’s shaped the lives of Doris Gee and Phil Moore, who started out as friendly competitors in the real estate industry back in the late ‘80s. Today, they’ve teamed up to become one of the most successful duos in the Lower Mainland, helping more than 5,300 clients buy and sell their homes over three decades.

You might think police officer to real estate agent is an unlikely transition, but for Phil Moore, it makes total sense. After spending eight years in the Vancouver Police Department, Moore took his skills and began selling homes in 1989.

“I think there's a lot of similarities between policing and real estate. In policing, you're negotiating and mediating. In real estate, you're doing the same. It was a great transition,” says Phil.

Around the same time Moore was swapping the badge for the open house, Doris Gee had already started making waves in the real estate world. While helping out in her family’s restaurant, she took a real estate course and graduated with top marks.

When Gee and Moore first met, they admit they saw themselves as competitors, both vying for the top spot in terms of number of homes sold in a given month. When Gee came out on top one month, Moore realized it was time to join forces.

The pair started selling homes together before officially tying the knot in 1990. Since then, they’ve built a team and adopted the tagline “Make a World of Difference.” And a difference they have made, winning multiple awards and consistently landing themselves in the top 1% of BC real estate agents.

“The clients become our friends. It's really being of service and giving them honest advice. We're not here for the short term. We've been around for 34 years and we'll be around for much longer,” says Doris.
