The team at Vancouver brokerage Dexter Associates Realty explains why giving back to the community has become so important to them

Once again, real estate agents at Dexter Associates Realty are taking part in the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer, which is presented by Silver Wheaton and benefits the BC Cancer Foundation. Over the past seven years Dexter Associates Realty has taken part in this huge event, cycling more than 240 kilometres from Vancouver to Seattle and raising more than $300,000.

We’re here because we know that cancer is too big a disease to ignore and, like many of you, we have seen what it can do to those close to us. With so many friends and family around us, it is all too easy to forget that this disease does not discriminate or let you decide who it afflicts. So we are taking a stand, for those this disease has claimed and for those that are fighting the biggest battle of their lives.

We have always believed in community support and giving back in different ways. And this ride has been a staple of that support at Dexter. Together we will do all we can to support each other in this epic adventure. And we want to do all we can to fight this terrible disease that has affected us all in one way or another… And even more so this year. We want to kick cancer, so help us with this fight. It is a truly inspiring event and such a great cause.

Through fundraisers and donations supported by our real estate agents and clients, we want to reach our goal of raising $30,000 this year. We are planning a fundraiser on August 19 before we embark on our ride.

If you would like to support our ride, please go to our fundraising page at www.conquercancer.ca/goto/TeamDexter. Thank you to everyone who supports our ride and, to all those facing this terrible disease, we support you.
