A people-friendly neighbourhood, Westminster Quay boasts a lively boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants, museums, boat cruise businesses, parks and other attractions.

Before the mid-1980s, Westminster Quay in City of New Westminster was an industrial area, with warehouses, rail lines, fish plants and ocean freighters dominating its riverfront landscape.

However, as the City of Vancouver prepared to host the 1986 World Exposition (Expo '86), the Quay was redeveloped to accommodate a new SkyTrain rapid-transit line from New Westminster to Vancouver. The result: a people-friendly neighbourhood that boasts a lively boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants, museums, boat cruise businesses, parks and other attractions.

Real estate in Westminster Quay is mainly modern condominium developments and high-rise towers. Many contemporary Westminster Quay townhomes and apartments feature luxury amenities and spectacular views of the Fraser River.

The average house price in Westminster Quay is around $600,000, with apartments averaging around $302,000. Apartments in Westminster Quay comprise about two-thirds of housing stock. View New Westminster Quay MLS® listings and upcoming open houses
