When Cristina Oberti, principal of Cristina Oberti Interior Design, was tasked with creating sophisticated contemporary interiors for The Grand on King George, she took her cues from the architecture.
“The inspiration for the interiors definitely came from the unique contemporary architecture … it can be seen in the linear, neutral palette mimicking the exterior colours,” says Oberti. “The look, both inside and outside, is modern, timeless and sophisticated.”
The Grand - Bedroom
The 46-storey mixed-use tower, in the heart of Surrey’s developing wellness and technology hub, was created by an impressive award-winning team that includes Allure Ventures, IBI Group architects and Cristina Oberti Interior Design — with a goal of offering a sophisticated urban-lifestyle residence that pairs with sweeping views and inviting resort-style amenities and unmatched luxury.
The Grand on King George consists of a well-appointed collection of 333 one-bedroom plus den and two-bedroom city homes, ranging from 500 to 800 square feet of thoughtfully curated homes - each boasting large decks with sweeping views of either the North Shore Mountains, Fraser River, or cityscapes.
The Grand - Living Room
There are so many unique features in these homes.
“All of the cabinetry, closets, doors and door trims are customized, which is very rare in a large tower,” Oberti says. “Allure really elevated themselves in the Surrey market, offering buyers beautiful finishes such as quartz countertops, chimney hood fans, and full height backsplashes in the kitchens.”
Not only that, the storage solutions are second to none.
“The storage solutions are big ticket items. There are built in closet organizers, kitchen corner pull outs, medicine cabinets to allow for more storage, with integrated LED lights in the cabinets and closets as well as niches in the showers,” says Oberti. “Then, there are drawers that when you open reveal two other drawers inside. The attention to detail is impressive.”
The Grand - Dining Room
The signature elegance here goes on and on. The West Coast contemporary details include expansive ceilings, wide plank flooring in all living areas, custom millwork throughout, chef kitchens with integrated Samsung WIFI appliances, gas cooktop, floor-to-ceiling windows, air-conditioning and other appointments to enhance your comfort.
In an all-inclusive, amenities are the crowing glory. The Grand on King George amenities are akin to living in a five-star resort. Imagine that all of this is at your doorstep: yoga and workout facilities, entertainment areas, virtual reality room and shared working spaces.

Discerning buyers also normally crave access to the city scene, with upscale facilities and ample space to host parties. The Grand caters to that crowd too with an expansive landscaped rooftop terrace that includes walking and gathering spaces, gardens, kitchen with barbecues, and dedicated areas for children and pets.
And when it is time to venture further, there is so much within walking distance. Jump on the Sky Train, just a four-minute walk, and go easily to wherever your desire takes you.
Close to Surrey Memorial Hospital, The Grand on King George is within a short distance to Civic Plaza, City Hall, the Surrey Centre Public Library and restaurants. It is also close to some of Surrey’s top schools, including Simon Fraser University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
