The mural created by Okuda San Miguel took a mere two days to complete
Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel has completed a 1,200-square-foot mural on the exterior of Vancouver developer PortLiving’s head office, according to an Urban YVR report.
According to the report, the mural, named Canada Secret Mountains, was inspired by British Columbia’s wildlife and San Miguel’s personal experience on the West Coast. The mural took only two days to complete and is surprisingly one of the artist’s smaller endeavours.
“Usually it takes four to seven days for bigger murals. I’ve heard it rains quite a bit here and I hope that this piece of art will help that,” San Miguel told Urban YVR.
The report explains that Portliving CEO Tobi Reyes had the idea of commissioning San Miguel based on his vision of making Vancouver a center for urban art.
“We hope that the mural allows people to reflect on their city,” Reyes told Urban YVR. “The beauty of its diversity and how the smallest corners and sidewalks all contribute to make our city one of the world’s best.”
