South West Marine Drive, which follows the northern arm of the Fraser River in the southwest corner of Vancouver, includes some of the city's most illustrious addresses. The winding drive stretches from Dunbar Street in the west to Granville Street in the east, lined with multimillion-dollar mansions, private golf courses and sprawling estates.
In fact, many properties along South West Marine Drive include gated entries, swimming pools and maid's quarters. The main green space along South West Marine Drive is Maple Grove Park, on Yew Street. This 4.2-hectare park includes picnic sites, playgrounds, soccer fields and a turquoise outdoor wading pool that's a magnet for families with young children during the summer months.
South West Marine Drive Transportation
Although it is commonplace to see high-end vehicles cruising along South West Marine Drive, the street is also a main thoroughfare for students and staff driving west to the University of British Columbia. No public buses travel along South West Marine Drive.
