The proportion of first-time home buyers in the B.C.'s housing market is dwindling fast, according to a study by Ipsos-Reid, which also found that more people think now is a good time to sell.
Currently, about 29 per cent of home buyers are first-time buyers, down from 38 per cent in the first half of 2009. Rapid recovery of housing prices, particularly in Metro Vancouver, is pushing first-time buyers out of the market, rather than any decline in interest, the study suggests.
