With over 22 years of real estate experience around the world, Mehdi Miar is the type of guy you want in your corner when you’re buying a house, especially if that house is in North Vancouver. He’s also a trained chef, so you probably also want him around if you’re planning a dinner party.
We get to know Miar in Season One of RealTours, when he tours our host, Stephen Tadgh, around the North Shore communities he knows and loves.
Building a business.
Miar moved to Canada in 2016 after running his own team of realtors in the Middle East. Since arriving, he’s built a highly successful business, winning multiple realty awards and handling hundreds of home purchases and sales. He’s currently developing a real estate website in Farsi to support Vancouver’s Iranian community.
A quick search of Miar’s Google reviews shows how loyal his customer base is. This isn’t surprising, as Miar explains his professional philosophy is to keep people coming back for more. “A large percentage of my clients come from repeat business and referrals as I deliver with the highest quality of service to all clients equally while upholding the quality of loyalty,” he says on his REW profile.

Ask Miar why people should consider a move to the North Shore and he’ll tell you it’s all about nature. Well, nature and the great homes on offer. When he’s not finding clients the perfect house, he’s spending time outdoors with his son, his self-described partner in crime.
All this activity is probably a good thing considering Miar’s other passion - great food. And as a chef, he knows great food. From traditional Iranian dishes to Italian classics, Miar can either whip you up a great meal or share some pretty epic restaurant recommendations.

Finding the right home in North Vancouver can be tricky - it’s a big area full of many distinct neighbourhoods and diverse communities. If you want to know the difference between Upper and Lower Lonsdale, or Lynn Valley and Deep Cove, Miar is your realtor. He’s helped clients buy and sell across the North Shore and knows the best way to balance things like stunning views with square footage. But his favourite spot in North Van? “That’s a very difficult question,” he says in RealTours. “But Edgemont Village. Definitely Edgemont.”
