Because we at Mattamy are offering this deal in lieu of other benefits, such as design credits or price reductions, the list price of each home is higher than it otherwise would be.
That means if you sell one of these homes, you will receive your commission based on that higher list price. This puts more money in your pocket at the end of the day.
You’ll get more interested buyers.
Because this offer is making so much noise, you’re likely to see an increase in the number of interested buyers. We’ve noticed an influx of inter-provincial migrants as well. That means interested buyers from BC are looking to move to Alberta, and this offer comes at an opportune time.
Since some of the interested buyers you’ll be interacting with won’t be as familiar with buying in Alberta, it's important to educate yourself on the offer and practice explaining the benefits to them.
While the money itself is no doubt attractive, you can also prompt them to think about some other benefits it brings, such as:
- Using the funds they would have otherwise spent on mortgage payments to buy new furniture.
- Putting the money into a savings account instead and earning interest.
- Leasing out the property and collecting both rent and Mattamy’s payments.
These not-so-obvious benefits are something you can explain to potential buyers and may tip some of them over into signing on.
