Construction has begun on Gardena, Burquitlam’s fastest-selling master-planned community by Intracorp Homes.

Once complete, Gardena will feature four buildings, including two concrete condo towers and two rental low-rise buildings. The first phase of Gardena was the 42-storey Lotus, which features 377 design-driven residences; while Magnolia is a boutique 17-storey tower offering 150 homes, from junior one-bedroom up to three-bedroom homes. Since sales began, more than 70 percent of the homes have sold.

It’s easy to understand why Gardena is resonating with buyers. First off, it is located at the base of Burnaby Mountain, in a desirable stretch of urban living boasting big-city amenities and a wide range of shopping and dining opportunities. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the great selection of parks, such as Mountain View, Burnaby Lake, and Mundy Parks.

For young families, Gardena is close to Mountain View Elementary School and a five-minute walk to the home of the new expansive YMCA. The homes are also within walking distance to the Burquitlam SkyTrain Station, a short transit ride to Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus, and close to Lougheed Town Centre.

“Coquitlam is committed to building liveable communities and we’re grateful for the partnership and investments Intracorp is making in our community,” says Raul Allueva, City Manager, City of Coquitlam

Designed by renowned Ste. Marie Studio, the interiors in both towers are impressive. Contemporary gourmet kitchens include a spacious island with microwave, storage, and dining-style seating, engineered-stone countertops complementing the single-slab porcelain backsplash and a Bosch stainless steel appliance package; with wood-like laminate floors throughout.

“With all the success at Lotus, Intracorp recreated the great floor plans and amenities that buyers loved for Magnolia. Our three-bedroom homes are very popular with young families who want to stay in the community where they grew up,” says Cody Medjuck, Sales Director Rennie Group.

Recently, developers have shifted amenities to focus more on active living and wellness components. Intracorp sets a new benchmark for design and programming with over 25,000 square feet of shared indoor and outdoor amenity space within the two towers including an outdoor rooftop movie theatre, a rooftop lounge, and a spa with fire pits, barrel sauna, and a Nordic outdoor rainfall shower for cold water therapy.

Not your average fitness studio, Gardena’s Fitness Studio has a dedicated Crossfit Studio complete with battle ropes, a boxing bag, plyometric boxes, and a gym sled. For avid yogis, the yoga studio is outfitted with a barre space with Lululemon Studio Mirrors - to guide you through virtual exercise classes, while providing live feedback on your form. After your workout, enjoy a massage in the private treatment room.

But that's not all. Gardena is steps from the forested trails of Burnaby Mountain and, together with their best-in-class team of experts, Intracorp has incorporated this connection to nature into a first-of-its-kind Secret Garden amenity, which will boast greenery climbing the walls with five-storey columns soaring above, a kitchen and lounge with an indoor-outdoor connection, and beautifully designed co-working spaces - and this is just a preview of an impressive list of luxurious amenities.

Prices start from $491,900 for a junior one-bedroom and a three-bedroom starts at $980,000.

“As Burquitlam rental rates are fairly high, compared to Brentwood and Metrotown, we have attracted a lot of investors to the project because Burquitlam price points are lower than in those two communities,” adds Medjuck.

For more information or to book your appointment at Gardena’s Presentation Centre and two display homes, 1037 Austin Ave., (open daily, except Fridays from noon to 5 p.m.), call 604-636-8668, email [email protected] or visit GardenaLiving.com.

Magnolia is anticipated to complete in mid-2026 and Lotus to follow in 2027.
