The West Side’s prestigious Dunbar neighbourhood is known as one of the most costly areas for real estate in Vancouver. Picturesque, quiet and residential, this neighbourhood is sewn in by Pacific Spirit Park to the west, Blenheim Street to the east, West 37th Avenue to the south and West 16th Avenue to the north.
Though largely an area of single family homes, we found a number of condos listed, ranging from a $619,000 at the low end to more than double that, at $1,388,000 at the high end. The detached housing market in Dunbar shows an even greater contrast, with a four-fold-plus increase from the least- to the most-expensive houses. The least expensive home in this charming neighbourhood is a still-pricey $2,288,000 while the costliest house is a spectacular property listed at over $10 million.

This cute but deceptively large, four-bedroom 1930s house is the lowest-priced detached home currently listed in Dunbar, at an asking price of $2,288,000. Sitting on a full-size lot, the home features two bedrooms on the main level, plus a den that could be a third upstairs bedroom, and there's a large yard and a bright, sunny deck. The lower level is currently home to a two-bedroom, one-bathroom mortgage-helper suite. The property is largely in its original condition but, with some sweat equity, could be a modern masterpiece in this popular neighbourhood.
