Fort Langley, which forms part of the Township of Langley, is a small village of 2,700 people with a long and significant history. Often called the "birthplace of British Columbia," Fort Langley served as a trading post to First Nations and the entire West Coast over a century ago.

Often called the "birthplace of British Columbia," Fort Langley served as a trading post to First Nations and the entire West Coast over a century ago. It was also a fortification point that helped European pioneers settle into the area and eventually expand across Greater Vancouver.

Residents and visitors can learn about Fort Langley's history with an afternoon visit to the Fort Langley National Historic Park, which has maintained its trading post in 19 th century fashion, or the Fort Langley Railway Station, which offers a small museum, a preserved 1920s caboose just outside, and a restored 1910 Canadian National Railway station.

Fort Langley real estate is much lower priced than that in nearby communities such as Surrey. Another unique feature in the area is the Fort-to-Fort Trail along the Fraser River, which offers beautiful views of McMillan Island.

TransLink offers numerous bus services to the Fort Langley area, including the 364 Langley Centre route. Drivers can also take the TransCanada Highway, which is just west of the community and offers quick access to Downtown.
