We’ve called Marpole one of the smartest markets for investors, but we also think it’s an amazing place to call home. Here are five great buys under $500K

We recently touted Marpole on Vancouver’s West Side as one of the best bets for condo investors in Metro Vancouver, but we think it’s a sure thing for those looking for a Vancouver home as well. Boasting some of the lowest entry-point prices on the West Side, this area is rapidly changing with the Marpole Community Plan having been adopted by City Council and the introduction of two Canada Line stations, plus a third in the works. The huge redevelopment of the Oakridge Transit Station further makes the case for a long-term play in this neighbourhood.

Looking at the prices of Marpole homes on the market, it’s easy to see why this is an excellent foot-in-the-door into Vancouver real estate. We’ve found five great properties ranging in price from $235,000 to $499,000, including one fabulous two-bedroom townhouse. Though many may be in older buildings, most have been modernized through recent renovations.
