We scoured the current listings to see what the current $590,000 benchmark price of a townhome will net you in East Van versus the West Side

In the second article in our series of what the benchmark price for Vancouver will buy you, we look at townhouses currently listed on REW.ca. The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver announced last week the benchmark figures of homes listed in March, which put townhouses at $589,100 in Metro Vancouver.

What we found was that you’ll have more square footage, better value in terms of price per square foot and either an extra bathroom or bedroom (or both!) in East Van. While on the West Side, you may sacrifice some space but each of the three townhomes we found listed were in highly desirable neighbourhoods. Which is more important? You be the judge!

Champlain Heights, East Vancouver
