“We have really thought through the design of these homes: from the efficiency of the building to minimizing maintenance fees and adding multiple outdoor spaces to each home for outdoor enjoyment,” says Gordana Plemic, director of sales and operations, DIMEX Group. “We wanted to exceed the expectations of buyers and have invested a lot time and attention to the finishes and features to make every room in the home special.”

Essentially, Passive House is designed to be extremely energy-efficient so that it doesn’t take a lot of power to heat or cool. In simple terms, Passive House focusses on the house’s envelope, which includes 6 inches of additional insulation on the exterior walls, and triple glazed tilt and turn windows and doors.

“We are the Tesla of buildings - the homes do not use any gas, they run on electricity and they are very efficient,” says Plemic.

Although Passive House does translate into lower operating costs, with a savings of up to 90 per cent in your heating bills, there’s no comparison in comfort between living in a Passive House home and conventional home.

“I have embraced the Passive House standard as a proven strategy for increasing occupant comfort and health and reducing energy demand in buildings." Says Scott Kennedy, principal of Cornerstone Architecture.
