City Gardens’ first tower, Trillium, is rising as a masterpiece embodying the concept of architecture and nature working harmoniously together. Local developer, Kelson Group introduced Kamloops to Trillium not long ago and it is already more than 50 percent sold.

“As a local company based out of Kamloops, it is an honour for us to build City Gardens as one of the largest residential developments in the downtown,” says Jason Fawcett, President of Kelson Group.

Unlike anything ever seen in Kamloops, the vision for Trillium and all the buildings coming to City Gardens is a nod to Mother Nature.

“The varying heights of the buildings reflect the varied growth that occurs in nature, with the shorter townhouses to the east and west representing small plants; their roofs angled like new plants pushing up through the soil,” says Justin Dyck, Architect AIBC, Partner, Station One Architects. “The two towers' design features, such as non-structural wood pillars ground the towers and mimic roots, while the curves of the exteriors represent leaves swaying in the wind.”

Rising 24 storeys as the city’s largest residential building, Trillium features 150 residences, from the Canopy Collection of large spacious suites and penthouses to beautiful studio, one, and two-bedroom suites, ranging from 500 to 1,583 square feet of thoughtfully designed spaces.

Evan Choy was sold on City Gardens for several reasons. The 29-year-old mortgage broker bought a one-bedroom and den in Trillium and cannot wait to move in next year.

“Buying in Trillium was a no-brainer,” says Choy. “The architecture is incredible; it looks like a tower you would see in Vancouver or the North Shore. The developer is very well-known in Kamloops and has a great reputation, plus I will be able to walk to work and to all the downtown restaurants, cafes, and shops.”

Inside each contemporary residence expect luxury finishes, such as modern two-toned cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms, a Samsung appliance package, nine-foot ceilings, wide plank flooring, a centralized heating and cooling system, expansive windows, and patios to take in the mountain, cityscape, and river views. Your new home also comes with a parking stall with an option to upgrade to a second stall, as well as EV chargers and storage lockers at an added cost.

Besides its coveted location within walking distance of Royal Inland Hospital, parks, arts and culture venues, and downtown businesses, Trillium residents will enjoy exclusive amenities. It starts with a restaurant on the ground level to the second floor of The Lounge, an elegant gathering space to visit, host friends, play billiards, read, or work in shared workspaces. The Fitness Studio with cardio equipment and a yoga space; and the 22nd floor of The Library boasts breathtaking views of the river, mountains, and cityscape.

When fully built out, City Gardens will encompass five hundred homes, including Trillium, a 20-storey condominium tower, low-rise rental apartments, townhomes, and commercial space.

“The landscaping also takes cues from the surrounding natural environment, evoking a valley and meadow with a riverbed that flows through the site and is reminiscent of the city’s location at the confluence of the North and South Thompson rivers,” says Dyck.

Trillium still offers a broad selection of homes starting from the low $400,000s with only a 10 percent deposit required. The City Gardens Sales Centre and display suite, located at 238 4th Avenue, Kamloops, is open from Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment. To register or for more information, call 778-644-5434, email citygardens@kelsongroup.com or visit kamloopscitygardens.ca. Expected completion is mid-2025.
