This combination sale of two detached properties in the West End squeaked into the top 5 priciest Greater Vancouver sales of August 28-September 3 (registered by Sept 8). The two side-by-side houses, one of which is home to the Cardero Grocery Store on the ground floor, sold together for $100K over the $3.8 million price tag after 38 days on the market, doubtless for their outstanding development potential. Situated on an extremely desirable pedestrianized “traffic-calmer” oasis in the heart of the West End, this could be a new housing development for a savvy developer.

The only North Vancouver home on our top-priced home sales chart, and it’s a real beauty. We’re not surprised this Deep Cove property sold for more than its $3,988,800 sticker price, although we are surprised it took 70 days to do so. This incredible multi-split-level home has gorgeous panelled vaulted ceilings in the main living spaces and the vast master bedroom (which also has a loft), plus theres a fabulous outdoor living space with kitchen and hot tub, and a private dock leading out into the Indian Arm. Yes please.

Just one official listing photo of the third-priciest property sale of last week – but it’s enough to sell us on this home! This is an incredible private estate on more than 1.8 acres of Howe Sound waterfront, at the Sunset Marina just off the Sea-to-Sky Highway, halfway between Horseshoe Bay and Lion’s Bay. It has 3,864 square feet of living space with five bedrooms inside a three-level main house with double garage, as well as a separate 1,488-square-foot coach house. It was bought by the lucky purchaser at $4.2 million, $795K under asking, after 56 days.

Unfortunately, this four-bedroom British Properties house, sold on August 28, has no listing photos to show you, aside from a fuzzy shot of the incredible views that take in the ocean, Lion’s Gate Bridge and most of Vancouver. From the Google Street View image of its entrance, it might not look like much, but this two-level house opens up with nearly 4,200 square feet of living space facing those amazing views, plus there’s an outdoor pool. It sold for $550K under ask after 14 days on the market.

The priciest home sale across the whole region the week of August 28-September 3 (registered by Sept 8) was this stunning contemporary home in West Vancouver’s elevated Westmount neighbourhood. Brand new, 2017-completed and custom built, this five-bedroom house has nearly 6,000 square feet of living space, with no-expense-spared finishings and conveniences. There are spectacular views of the ocean and city from all the principal rooms, plus a gorgeous outdoor pool and hot tub and a great outdoor kitchen. This property sold for the – ahem – unusual price of $6,428,571 after 64 days on market. That’s a chunk of change under the $728K asking price.
