GREENLIGHT
INTRODUCTION
In the heart of Langley Township’s Willoughby neighbourhood, a new community is taking shape. The Commons by Zenterra will offer 199 new condos in this rapidly growing part of Metro Vancouver. With an expected population increase of around 200,000 people by 2040 and a new Skytrain line servicing the area coming this decade, The Commons will provide much-needed homes for the Langley of the future.

In this episode of GREENLIGHT, host Stephen Tadgh discovers what The Commons plans to bring to Langley Township and what homeseekers can expect from the development. On offer are homes ranging from studios to spacious 3-bedroom units, just a kilometre from Willoughby Town Centre.

Project Analysis

Situated at the intersection of 208th Street and 83rd Avenue, The Commons might feel a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of nearby Fort Langley or Willoughby Town Centre. But with easy access to public transportation, including express bus service to the regions’ SkyTrain and West Coast Express stations, you’re closer to amenities than you might think.

Key features of the development include a 6,000 square foot communal rooftop area with gardens, a BBQ area, a putting green and various gathering spaces. Residents will have access to underground parking, bicycle storage, and children and pet areas.

Inside the homes, expect a Samsung appliance package, solid quartz countertops, matte black faucets and handles and a choice between ash or oak colour schemes. The size of units - starting at 437 square feet for a studio and moving up to 967 square feet for a 3-bed - is lower than what you’d find for resale in the area. But with all the included new amenities, you might be willing to trade off space for bells and whistles.

Studios start at $440,00 and 3-bed units begin at $780,000 (at time of writing).
