Buying a home is a daunting task for most people, and this is especially true for first time homeowners. Since our first meeting where we laid out expectations, Casey has been patient, kind and a careful listener. He provides excellent suggestions and advice to inform the buyer of the potential pros and cons that go with every property. Casey is also super quick and responsive to questions (no matter how big or small) even on weekends. When it comes to negotiations, Casey successfully came through on a Sunday evening to secure a home that I had my particular interests in. I had a specific set of time constraints and Casey made sure that the closing process, everything from the inspection to all the other subject removals went without a hitch. During a time like COVID-19, there is a lot of uncertainty in the market. Many real estate agents do well in a competitive market, but it takes a truly skilled realtor, like Casey, to navigate the market in a much more unpredictable time and to make clients feel comfortable. We met Casey Archibald in 2016 in an open house. Later he helped us buy a condo in downtown Vancouver in 2017. At that time we were first time homebuyers and we knew nothing about buying a home in BC. Casey suggested we go with a subject free offer, although he knew that we didn’t get any pre-approval at all. He kept telling me “ We will find a lender”. He recommended one mortgage broker, Mckay to us. He couldn’t get us a mortgage and wasted so much of our time before the completion date. I had to run to my regular bank to get myself a mortgage. Luckily I managed to do it. But it was so stressful and we were very worried about losing our deposit if we can’t close on time. Casey also suggested us not do a home inspection although we read from the strata documents that there was a recent flooding issue. We asked him about it. He told us not to worry and it was all fixed already. We believed in him and we didn’t do inspection. Three years after we moved into this apartment. We notice our floor start to rise where the flooding happened last time. Before repair, we had a guy check our floor with a sensor. He told us there is water under the floor in one bedroom. We would not believe that we have been living in an apartment with water/mould underneath the floor for such a long time What is worse, it is in our kid’s bedroom. We feel very bad about this. We should have done that home inspection in the first place but we followed Casey’s advice. As a real estate professional, why would he not suggest your client do a home inspection if the place had recently water leak? It doesn’t make any sense to me. We followed every step he suggested and we deeply regretted working with him. He didn’t look after our best interest at all.
