Lavish Westside Vancouver homes, sumptuously decorated for the holidays – what could be more festive than that? Well, how about a tour of those homes, organized in support of children in need?
Homes for the Holidays is running its 10th Anniversary Tour on November 28 and 29, and all proceeds of the tour go to Kids Help Phone, a charity that offers 24-hour confidential and anonymous telephone support for children, 365 days a year.
This year’s self-guided tour will take you through six of the Westside’s most luxurious homes, including the iconic Casa Mia, the 1932 historic Spanish Revival Art Deco mansion that in earlier years has hosted performances by famous jazz musicians including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington,
The tour can be done all in one day or over both days of the event. Participants will be given a “passport” to stamp off which venues they have visited.
Kids Help Phone has been a lifeline for children for more than 20 years, providing a safe place for kids to turn to without fear or ridicule and get help with any problem, large or small. The charity aims to help children of all backgrounds and problem levels, from the average kid struggling with an issue they don't feel comfortable discussing with anyone else, through to high-needs and at-risk children who turn to the helpline repeatedly over many years.
