Quiz: Guess the Listing Price

Joannah Connolly
January 12, 2017

When the BC Assessment notices were sent out last week, we noted that the steepest value increases were seen outside the Lower Mainland’s most expensive areas – with downtown Squamish, Lynn Valley and Burnaby’s Buckingham Heights seeing the biggest jumps. So we thought we’d take a look at three current listings in those neighbourhoods to see how much they’re on the market for. What’s your guess?

Test your listing price knowledge by choosing from the three price options available in the photo gallery above, and then click on the far-right arrow to reveal the correct answer. Click again for the next listing. For a few extra clues, more revealing details are in the descriptions below.

When you’re done, if you want to see the full listings in all their glory, you can click on the links below.

As each of these properties are sold, the listings may no longer be available.

Buckingham Heights, Burnaby

This grand home on a 9,627-square-foot lot with mountain views in Burnaby’s Buckingham Heights is called “Chateau Eterno Belleza” and has been masterfully crafted by Ridgemont Construction. The main level features a grand living room with walk-out terrace and a state-of-the-art kitchen with top-grade Miele appliances, Silhouette wine fridge, spice kitchen and massive island. The upper level has four bedrooms, and the master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and lavish ensuite. There is also a home theatre/entertainment room with built-in retractable projector screen, wet bar, poker room, gym, wine cellar and legal one-bedroom suite. The house is kitted out with a high-tech central media system to control lighting, music, security surveillance and more via wireless device. So how much for all this luxury in Burnaby’s most prestigious neighbourhood?

Downtown Squamish

Downtown Squamish is skyrocketing, and this townhouse is ideally situated an easy walk to everything Squamish has to offer, including schools, shopping and the expansive trail network. This immaculately kept corner/end unit has a spacious feel, big enough for a family and offers two outdoor spaces. This home has upgraded features that include a bathroom on the main living floor, accent stairwell lighting and additional pot lights, built in central vacuum and hot/cold wash basin in the garage. Other features are a wide main entry, vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms and a heated floor in the master ensuite. This property also has a rare double garage with additional space for all your recreational toys.

Lynn Valley, North Vancouver

This listing is a spectacular new detached home on an elevated Lynn Valley lot, which allows residents to enjoy the panoramic views and city lights from the moment they step inside the front door. A truly extraordinary home with plenty of space for a large family, it features generously proportioned rooms, an open-concept great room with incredible views, high-end finishing throughout, large covered decks with built-in ceiling heaters, a large south-facing yard, a legal suite, and much more. Indeed, the listing agent simply says that there are way too many fabulous features to list. What do you think this “bells and whistles” home is listed for?
