With property prices in many US areas still somewhat depressed, and Canadians conversely having increasing amounts of home equity and decreasing lending rates, more Canadians than ever are looking south of the border to purchase property.

Canadians bought the highest number of US homes sold to foreigners in the year to March 2014, accounting for 19 per cent of overseas buyer transactions in the States, according to a July 8 report by the US's National Association of REALTORS®.
