By Christina Newberry2015-02-18

Design, entertaining and lifestyle enthusiasts in British Columbia and Alberta can begin sending in audition videos today for the chance to be named Western Canada’s Next Home Stylist, a title that comes with a prize package valued at $10,000 – including the chance to appear on the main stage at this fall’s home and design shows in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

The contest, presented by Marketplace Events (producer of the Vancouver Home + Design Show) in partnership with Urban Barn and Western Living, targets bloggers, designers and entertaining aficionados, pitting three finalists against each other in a series of challenges.

“We’re constantly blown away by the creative individuals we meet every day in our stores, and we wanted to be part of something that would allow us to shine a light on the talents of young Canadians,” said Hali Mrsic, marketing manager for Urban Barn. “It’s exciting to think about the potential this search holds for one person’s future.”

The winner will present a fall trends presentation in partnership with Urban Barn at the three Western Canadian home and design shows in September and October.

Audition videos will be accepted until April 30, with the three finalists announced June 4. The challenges will take place between June and August and be shared through social media. The winner will be announced August 17.

Home stylist hopefuls can find contest entry details and more information at nexthomestylist.com.
