The first of two properties on this list to sell in three days, this Whistler house was the fifth-priciest home sale within the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver’s jurisdiction the week of September 4-10 (registered by Sept 15). We’re not surprised it was snapped up so quickly, as these views of – and direct beachfront access to – beautiful Green Lake are to die for. The interior has been recently renovated and includes five bedrooms, large living spaces and a stone fireplace. This gorgeous home sold for $101K above its asking price.

This unusual combined commercial/residential strata property on West 1st in Kits, just off Burrard, was the fourth-priciest sale on the MLS® of last week. It’s a retail store on the ground floor, with an established tenant, and a two-level townhouse above, complete with internal glass-roofed atrium. The 3,114-square-foot residential portion has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a street-front veranda over the store sign, and a large patio. Renovated, this could be an amazing home, with the benefit of considerable income from the ground floor. It took 28 days to sell, and the buyers paid just $2K over list price.

3. SOLD: $6,680,000

Most Expensive Sept 15 No 3

There’s only one listing photo of enough quality to share of this West Vancouver mansion, but you can see it’s a real beauty. Boasting fantastic southerly city and ocean views, this new house in desirable Lower Chartwell has nearly 7,000 square feet of living space, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and an open-plan living space. The third-priciest property to sell September 4-10, the sellers took only three days to accept an offer that was $600K under asking.

2. SOLD: $9,000,000

Built in 2015, the sweet, relatively modest-looking exterior of this Shaughnessy house belies the luxury living offered inside, and the 5,477 square feet of interior space. Over three levels (it drops down at the back) are five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an array of living and entertaining spaces, an office, a wine room, a home theatre and more. It’s all interior-designed to within an inch of its life and is packed with smart-home features. Nevertheless, this home sold for $3.88 million under its $12.88 million asking price, after 92 days on market.

The most expensive home sale of September 4-10 is a four-bedroom Kitsilano property that we’ve been drooling over for a while now, since it was on the market for a whopping 581 days before finally selling last week. It is an oceanfront home on Point Grey Road that has renowned architect Arthur Erickson’s Modernist signature all over it. The two-level courtyard is something else, as are the expansive ocean, mountain and city views from the wide waterfront deck. Looks like the sellers were willing to make a deal after such a long listing, as it went for a full $3 million under its $13.5 million price tag, after dropping from the original $14.9 million.
