  • REW.ca, a division of Glacier Media Inc., is seeking a Senior Developer (Data) to play a key role in enhancing and maintaining a data platform that processes real estate related property and consumer data for the REW.ca real estate listing portal and other Glacier Media business initiatives.

    This is a diverse role ideal for someone who enjoys owning all aspects of developing end-to-end data flows including requirements gathering, data modeling, ETL script development, and data quality control. The data sources include third party APIs and streaming events captured off the REW.ca website. We work on an agile data platform built on cloud hosted databases (Amazon RDS Postgres) and data processing scripts (Python running on EC2 instances). We also use specialized services such as Google BigQuery for website event analytics.

    You have solid database development skills resulting from your experience manipulating datasets, both relational as well as unstructured. You have built production ETL processes including the testing and deployment of ETL changes. You understand data modeling best practices and how to correctly transform business requirements and data into well designed data stores. You take responsibility for your work and understand how to build systems that perform well and are easy to maintain.

    Required Experience

    • Demonstrated data programming skills (using scripts or ETL products such as SSIS, Talend).
    • Proficiency in a scripting language (ideally Python) for data processing.
    • Postgres (or SQL Server / Oracle) experience - admin, creating objects, modeling, optimizing queries.
    • Formal data modeling education and work experience.
    • Understanding of dimensional modeling / star schemas.
    • Bachelor of Computer Science or a similar technical degree.
    • 3+ years related work experience.

    Bonus Skills

    • Work experience designing and building star schemas.
    • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services RDS.
    • Familiarity with devops practices.
    • Git and GitHub work experience.
    • Knowledge of data analysis concepts such as data visualization, dashboard design, data mining.
    • Experience developing HTTP APIs.
    • Chart creation using Google Charts, amCharts, D3.

    The REW.ca team consists of 25 employees (and growing rapidly) who build, support, and market our highly-ranked (over 2.5 million visits per month) REW.ca real estate portal and its products.   • Real Estate website portal REW.ca is looking for a junior-level, contract front-end web developer to work with our marketing team. Hours will vary from 20+ per week depending on the project which includes building out new features and functionality on REW News (rew.ca/news), and updates to static marketing pages on the main site. Main areas of responsibility will include fairly basic UX, front-end development, and some email marketing software integration with subscriber database.

    Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to UX design, and front-end code development for REW News
    • Help translate designs and style guides provided by the creative team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance
    • Assist with test coverage, performance and load tests, timely resolution of issues, and other actions to assure delivery of quality features and functionality
    • Contribute clean, maintainable code and ensure all code is properly tested
    • Participate in an Agile development process
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver projects within identified timelines

    Required Skills:

    • Technical degree or diploma, with at least 2 years experience in web development
    • HTML(5), JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Git, CSS/SASS/SCSS
    • Experience working with email marketing software a plus (we use Mailchimp and Sendgrid)
    • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch skills an asset
    • Experience and knowledge of object-oriented programming
    • Experience with media queries and building responsive websites
    • Excellent at solving the challenges of cross browser rendering (mobile and desktop)
    • Experience designing and developing within content management systems
    • Great problem solving skills with attention to detail and proven ability to juggle deliverables on several simultaneous projects
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a fast-moving team; excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Specifically, we are looking for an Account Manager responsible for Agent and Broker Inside Sales to join our dynamic and burgeoning inside sales team.

    The Account Manager – Agent & Broker Inside Sales will be a highly motivated, self-driven sales professional with a proven track record. This individual will be responsible for generating new client acquisitions through new and current product offerings, as well as renewing customer product subscriptions within their book of business. The majority of sales activities will be conducted over the phone and by email.

    Responsibilities:

    • Generate, increase and retain marketing and subscription revenue for new and existing real estate professional customers
    • Build and manage a sales pipeline by aggressively prospecting: setting phone appointments, following up with all appointments, calls, and emails, and performing marketing and product demonstrations
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly targets while documenting and following up on all activities in the company’s CRM
    • Become a consultative sales specialist with in-depth knowledge of REW.ca marketing solutions, together with the capability to communicate how they create a competitive advantage for clients who use them
    • Keep abreast of current online marketing strategies, methods, and trends, including competitive market and industry trends
    • Provide a high level of sales and customer service

    Education, Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum 2-3 years of sales experience
    • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales goals through new customer acquisition and management
    • Demonstrated success in consultative selling and presenting multiple solutions to ensure the best fit with prospect and customer needs
    • Ability to use critical thinking in a variety of situations and to solve "real world" problems faced by our target customers
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Strong organizational and follow up skills
    • Ability to excel in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Online advertising sales background is a plus
    • Background in Real Estate is helpful but not required
    • Excellent computer and internet skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs

    • Proven ability to navigate the day-to-day tactical dialogue with leading digital agencies while simultaneously developing and nurturing client-direct relationships
    • Creative, smart, passionate self-starter with a competitive and entrepreneurial spirit and team player approach
    • Demonstrated success in consultative selling and presenting multiple solutions to ensure the best fit with prospects and customer needs
    • Ability to excel in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Online advertising sales background is a plus
    • Background in Real Estate is helpful but not required
    • In addition to excellent internet and Microsoft Office skills, must be proficient in use of CRM software
