Yarrow lies southwest of Chilliwack. It's a commercial centre with long-established links to the surrounding countryside. Once a railway stop, the draining of Sumas Lake opened up rich agricultural land. Today, agriculture and construction are mainstays of the local economy, but residents enjoy the quieter pace of life the low-lying Yarrow area offers.

Key attractions are the mountain vistas and opportunities for recreation such as ball games, cycling, or horseback riding. Yarrow is just south of the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve; a quick hop north across the Vedder River (and landmark canal) offers abundant bird-watching opportunities.
