Cloverdale

Cloverdale is a community just south of the Fraser Highway, southeast of Surrey’s city centre. A neighbourhood with a history beginning in the 1800s, the community has flourished into a bustling centre of commercial activity while still retaining much of its small-town charm. In fact, that small-town look makes it a popular location for movies and TV, most notably, Smallville. Cloverdale has grown exponentially from its beginnings as a rural agricultural community, primarily due to its location along the old BC Electric Railway.

Cloverdale hosts the Surrey Museum & Archives, which chronicles the area’s history. The Cloverdale Fairgrounds host the annual Cloverdale Rodeo and country fair, where world and Canadian champions compete in a week’s worth of rodeo events. The town centre also hosts the annual Cloverdale Blueberry Festival, which features a car show and a blueberry pie-eating contest.
