Lynn Valley, one of the northernmost neighbourhoods in the City of North Vancouver, is named for John Linn, a pioneer of the area. Surrounded by beautiful green spaces, the neighbourhood’s east border is Lynn Canyon Park and the north boundary is Lynn Headwaters Regional Park and the Greater Vancouver Regional District Watershed. With all that forest around, hardy Lynn Valley residents learn how to deal with visits from bears.
Lynn Valley houses are generally between 30 and 50 years old, as most of the area’s residential development occurred between the 1950s and the 1970s. Many of the area’s houses have been redeveloped or heavily renovated, which accounts for most of the construction projects in the area. Most properties are single-family detached homes on large lots. There are also a few townhouse developments and apartments in the area, particularly near the Lynn Valley Centre.
Lynn Valley also has the highest number of schools of any community in the area, which reflects the community’s high proportion of families.
Lynn Valley real estate has a wide range of prices because of the numerous land-only lots for sale. Prices for homes range from $45,000 (land only) to $1,999,000. The median list sold price is $729,000.
