New Horizons
New Horizons is a popular new neighbourhood located in Northeast Coquitlam, adjacent to River Springs and Oxford Heights, two urban pockets of development that are part of the Northeast Coquitlam community.
New Horizons is a lakeside development made up mostly of single-family homes. It differs from the more rural parts of Northeast Coquitlam in that New Horizons is close to the town centre and the retail and commercial amenities of Central Coquitlam. The New Horizons neighbourhood is served by one elementary school, a middle school and secondary school.
New Horizons is also near Lafarge Lake, a five-hectare man-made lake, and the Evergreen Cultural Centre, a theatre, rehearsal hall, an art gallery, and host of the Water’s Edge Festival.

New Horizons is just around the corner from Riverview Forest in neighbouring River Heights. It is just east of Mundy Park and has extensive forested wilderness trails for walking and jogging. New Horizons is also in close proximity to the City Centre Aquatic Complex with its Olympic-sized swimming pool. There is also Lafarge Lake and Town Centre Park as well as Percy Perry Stadium with turf fields, tot lot, playgrounds and tennis courts.
New Horizons Transportation
There are five trains during weekday peak hours that operate on the West Coast Express commuter train connecting Coquitlam to downtown Vancouver in just under 30 minutes from Coquitlam Station to Vancouver Waterfront Station. The 97-B bus route provides express service between Lougheed Station and Coquitlam West Coast Express Station. New Horizons is also close to major bus routes near Coquitlam Centre.
